Bangkok, TH.40, Thailand
Wow, I've been here 8 days so far. At first I thought things were moving at a Thai snail's pace and then whammo!

I came to Bangkok for an interview at the Indian shool, which I missed - long story . But when I am out on the street 4 more schools call and want an interview. I am getting very adept at the Thai habit of squatting in the street, writing down addresses and phone numbers.
Actually, I just get the phone number and hand it to the taxi driver, it's easier that way. The biggest problem is that I have no idea which section of Bangkok I'm in and where each relative school is so it's like a road rally as I zig zag across town.

But get this! Prepare for requisite mocking - the first school - NIVA International School - offered me a job as Elementary Education Supervisor. Basically, it's elementary principal but since I don't have an admin cert...   The good news - the salary is 3x the teachers salary, and the school is gorgeous and the staff are all very nice. The bad news ...it's in Bangkok, albeit on the outskirts, and do I really want to live in Bangkok? Plus it would involve a lot of research on my part (does anyone know a crash course in principalship?) and I am retired, after all, do I really want to do this?

Well , I have 3 more interviews today to compare it to, although I serioiusly doubt the money will match up.   And I did want to travel a bit, maybe teach up north in Chiang Mai by the Burma border or down south near Hat Yai near the Malasyia border. I just don't know..... Now I have too many choices.

Pray for me to make the right choice!
