Four days of learning at the p2P Hollywood Crop

Crystal Brook, South Australia, Australia
It has been a great four days with Pam.  I've learnt from her and the p2P Hollywood Crop webinars that we have watched together.  Because of the 12 hours American time difference, there was one break out session when we stayed up till 11.30pm to view.  And it didn't finish until 1.00am! Then we were up the next morning at 5.15am to watch another!  It was all worth it.  All 'Break Out' session were recorded, so they are available for attendees to watch over and over through the company Forever.
On Saturday night we gave ourselves a break from the screen and Pam took us for a drive on the top road. We did the loop, this time on the other side of Beetaloo Valley Road.  From this road we looked across to Pam's home and our caravan parked up!  Peter decided it was far too hilly to farm here!  The sunset was magic and we could see across to Port Pirie.
On Sunday the10th we had a visit from two of Pam's digi & traditional scrapping friends, armed with a bottle of wine.  So we spent a couple of hours chatting with Ros and Joy.  Peter has been the perfect husband.  Cooked for us, washed up what dishes didn't go in the dishwasher and done a few odd jobs for Pam.  He even fixed her trailer that she purchased in her twenties, assuring her that it would be fine for the odd jobs she wished to do with it.  When the ladies left we found him enjoying a tinnie, taking in the view.
Monday morning was the last of the crop webinars and in the afternoon we went to Port Broughton for 'Pam's Tour' of the holiday village and nearby 'Fisherman Bay'.
The tour of the beach cottages at Fisherman Bay was quite something.  The majority of cottages are so old!  Dunnies up the back even!   It does seem that most now have a septic system but it wasn't that long ago that it was still the long drop!
The private land of Fisherman Bay was previously owned by a farming family that enjoyed fishing.  Being a popular fishing spot, the family allowed fishers to build shacks on the land for a leasing fee.  Over time the number of shacks grew to about 400 and local shops, a jetty, a petrol pump, and pay phones were built at the thriving town.  But in 1973 the family stopped managing the leases and sold the land.  It is now referred to as Lot 4. Fisherman Bay Management Pty. Ltd., a group of private leaseholders that includes some of the original family members in the new company.  It is reported that the last two decades have been a bureaucratic battle.  To keep their little shack at Fisherman Bay families are having to pay around $100,000 for the block.  The blocks are having to be resurveyed and are very close together.  We reflected about about the management of the leasehold blocks of Drummond Cove, the shacks at Ledge Point and other areas on the WA Turquoise Coast.  Fisherman Bay did seem quite a bit more complicated!
We had stopped at Port Broughton when we toured Yorke Peninsular in 2014.  The foreshore area is still as nice.  When you are there for the sunset it is even more special.  The reflection back onto the hotel which was built in 1910 was very nice.  We had a walk on the jetty and purchased a seafood basket each for our dinner.  It was the perfect finish to the weekend and our week with Pam.

Looks like a few turned up for the crop. Those hours are hard to keep up with. I remember some late night meetings back in the day. Enjoy your Easter in SA.
