Busan - Just Passing Through

Busan, Busan, South Korea
A mere three hours after we left Hakata, we arrived at Busan, South Korea's second largest city and its largest port. Evidence of a busy port was visible well before the ferry made it to the docks - cranes, containers and ocean-going ships crowded the horizon. Immigration at the ferry terminal was routine. A shuttle bus got us to Busan's main train station.

The ultra modern Busan train station is one terminus for KoRail's KTX, Korea Train eXpress, the Korean equivalent of the Shinkansen and with the train operating at speeds over 300km/hour, the distance to Seoul is covered in less than 3 hours ! The route passes through pleasant green farmland and forested hills, with some mountains near the Busan area
