A Bonus Weekend

Norfolk, Virginia, United States
We traveled unexpectedly to Norfolk May 12-13 for a two-day weekend because Donna had left her fanny pack, wallet, etc on the boat the prior weekend. We worked on miscellaneous tasks--nothing exciting. Dave ran the spinnaker sheets through the spin locks. Donna tweezered out the threads remaining on the sail bag, removing adhesive residue with Goof Off.

Dave checked the dinghy for suspected leakage but the air fill cap just needed to be tightened it seems . He cleaned the dinghy and cleaned out one of the cockpit lockers. He scrubbed and recoiled some dirty mooring lines. Dave is troubleshooting to determine why the GPS isn't talking to the autopilot, radar and other instruments.  He cleaned both port and starboard bilges again. He reset the depth sounder to indicate depth from the water line (as opposed to depth from the bottom of the hull) and verified accuracy with a measuring pole.

Attached are pictures of a family of ducks living nearby. They were tiny ducklings when we first arrived and we are anxious to see each weekend we return how much they have grown.

We had dinner on board with John and Joan again-pork tenderloin on the grill with mango salsa, grilled sweet peppers, salad and key lime pie for dessert. We're ready for the good life!
