Another Family Sail!

Donna's brother Ron and wife Maureen from California wrapped some time around a business trip to join us and Erek for some sailing July 21-24. We took a day sail on Saturday in NE winds 15-20 kt with 3-4 ft chop. We headed out near Fisherman's Island then tacked back towards Mobjack, later running downwind under the spinnaker to return to Willoughby Harbor.

On Sunday we took another day sail in NE wind 15-20 kt with 3-4 ft chop out past Cape Henry to the Virginia Beach oceanfront, then returned . Maureen left with a rental car for the airport the following morning due to business commitments.

Ron was taking additional vacation days, so we were able to sail out again around noon to take him all the way to Rudee Inlet where we anchored for the night. With a NE 12 kt dying wind we had to motor down the oceanfront.

We departed the next morning on light and variable winds, mostly motoring, arriving at Willoughby around 1300 hours.
