Corrottoman River, Virginia, United States
We departed Mill Creek at 0650 hours motoring south on light 5-10 NE winds. Our destination is the Corrottoman Creek off the Rappahannock River. We sailed for the first time under the Rappahannock Bridge which is fairly expansive. On the way up the Rappahannock we detoured through the area of Carter Creek which is a more developed waterway near the town of Irvington--not for us!

Corrottoman Creek is a nice area for quiet anchorage . Most of the anchorages we travel to are those most highly recommended (4 or 5 star) in a very good book called Cruising the Chesapeake, A Gunkholer's Guide by William H. Shellenberger.
