Our Journey North to Winter at Georgetown MD

East River Mobjack Bay, Virginia, United States
Today we began our journey north to Georgetown Yacht Basin in Maryland where we would be hauled out of the water for the winter. They are the only operation big enough to lift our catamaran out of the water without using a railway. Winds were strong but directionally not in our favor NNW to N 10-15 kt. We departed Willoughby Harbor Marina for the final time this season at 0630 hours. We stopped at Salt Ponds to fill the fuel tanks at $2.99 per gallon 131.4 gallons. You do the math! Our props we fouled which slowed down our engine speed. We originally hoped to reach the Piankatank River (one of our favorite destinations) but when it was apparent we wouldn't get there before dark, we decided to turn into Mobjack Bay and anchor in the East River.  Dave is on vacation for the whole week, so we're in no rush (other than the fact that it is pretty cold outside!).
