Sailing to (another) Mill Creek near Solomons MD

Mill Creek, Maryland, United States
We departed Mill Creek off the Great Wicomico River in Virginia and headed north for anchorage at another Mill Creek (popular name!) near Solomons, MD. Winds were SW to WSW 15-20 kt, shifting to the NE. This afforded a very fast crossing of the Potomac along what was a crab pot slalom course as Dave liked to hug the coast to stay in flat water. Just beyond Point No Point the wind dropped out and came back with a change in direction to NE at 20 kt. We got caught in irons and wrapped our fishing lines around the port daggerboard. An exciting trip which later found us tacking into the Solomons area in dying wind.
