Cockrell's Marine Railway, Virginia, United States
We departed Zahniser's around 0800 hours. Since the autopilot was not working we continued our hand steering to our final destination at Cockrell's Marine Railway, a marina near Heathsville VA on the Little Wicomico River.  The weather was pleasant with wind W 10-20, temp ~ 60s, and we sailed on a single reef main, full jib.

This would be the first time we would approach the jetties that create the entry to the Little Wicomico River and they had some reputation for constantly changing entrance shoals and shallow depth and the cruising guide had warnings to not completely trust any charts or entrance instructions, recommending that you contact Smith Point Sea Rescue on VHF for entrance instructions . We did in fact contact them by radio but they had no special instructions for us other than to respect the existing markers.  We traversed the jetty entrance without incident.

Once in the Little Wicomico, it's a picturesque sail up the river to our marina passing one of the Chesapeake's few remaining cable ferries that vessels need to be aware of when crossing their path.

We arrived at the marina around 1300 hours which gave us plenty of time to spend getting our docking arrangement set up at the new slip that had been created to accommodate Pas de Deux.  Donna took digital pictures of all the tying up we devised so that we could repeat it in the future.
