Crossing the Potomac to the Yeocomico River VA

Kinsale, Virginia, United States
We left our anchorage at Herring Creek MD at 0830 hours for a really nice, quick close reach sail on the main and jib to cross the Potomac for the Yeocomico River VA.  It was sunny and warm with SW winds 5-15, mostly on the light side. We toured different branches of the Yeocomico before settling near Kinsale around noon. There were many good choices for anchoring--a typical, beautiful Bay area river! We took the dink to Kinsale and walked around town. 4th of July preparations were underway. There was no grocery store within walking distance but we would have just been browsing--we didn't need any supplies. There were a lot of jet skis and water skiers out and about- probably more than usual due to holiday weekend. We fished from the dink and each caught one white perch. We cut one up for bait but had no luck fishing with it from the boat.
