Fishing Bay, Piankatank River, Virginia, United States
We had plans today to meet our Norfolk-based friends John and Joan F. with their dog Sailor and their new Lagoon 380 catamaran (John sold his Catalina monohull) at Fishing Bay, a very nice anchorage off the Piankatank River. It was a sunny, dry, pleasant day with light winds from the North. We departed our marina at 1010 hours and flew the spinnaker as long as we could, then motored the remaining distance. We caught 2 blues near Windmill Point but didn't keep them. John and Joan were there when we arrived around four o'clock. Cruising in we had a chance meeting with Cinderella, a Lagoon 410 catamaran owned by Raleigh and Cindy who had been in a nearby slip the season prior when we were at Willoughby Harbor Marina. We shouted a "hello"  and hosted Happy Hour for Alize & Cinderella.  John, Joan and Sailor stayed for our planned dinner together.
