Rendezvous at Smith Creek

Smith Creek, Maryland, United States
Fortunately our plans to meet up with John and Joan (and dog Sailor) on their catamaran Alize worked out today. When planning initially we weren't sure whether winds would carry them far enough north from their start in Norfolk days ago.

We were able to depart Mill Creek and take a spinnaker run at close angles once we entered the Potomac on SW winds 10 kts . According to Dave, Donna did a nice job driving the spinnaker at 90 degrees and closer. Too bad it was a cloudy cool day with both light and hard rains. We arrived in Smith Creek at 1443 hours and were later joined by Alize, where we had to share the same bucket of water because another boat was already sitting in the bucket Pas de Deux was expecting to have (where we had anchored on a previous visit). We hoped that the American bald eagle would return to its nest for Joan to see. No luck, but you can see the empty nest in an attached picture! We took the dink over to Alize for dinner.
