Dun Cove Harris Creek Choptank River, Maryland, United States
We departed our lovely anchorage at 0719 and motor toured eastward along the Wye East River for a distance to see some more of the area, including several lovely homes lining the riverbank.

On this cloudy and cool day with light SE winds 5-8 we then motor sailed all day back through Poplar Narrows and Knapps Narrows . We took on 50 gallons of diesel at Knapps Narrows.

We arrived at a nice stopover anchorage at Dun Cove just north of Knapps Narrows at 1509 hours. The water in this cove was so clear that we were able to discover that our starboard rudder was gone. In retrospect we believe we lost it during the heavy weather we experienced in the Potomac a few weeks earlier (see our entry dated October 19). Cha-ching, cha-ching $$$$... I suppose the good news was that Dave finally realized that nothing was inherently wrong with the auto-pilot that kept hunting unusually during our most recent voyages--those symptoms were actually caused by the loss/absence of our rudder, rendering the autopilot unable to perform normally.
