This, the last thing, is the first late thing.
American Airlines flight 4349 from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Kansas City is late. Scheduled for 1:45, it is pushed back to 2:15, then 2:40 and then 3:05 and then 3:20 and then 3:40.
O’Hare is an old airport but they keep tweaking it to make it seem less so. How about a Chicago-style deep dish Uno’s Pizza?
OK, they’ve got that. How about a glass of wine while enjoying live piano music? OK, they’ve got that. If you want to shop at a Brooks Brother’s Store, you can. Want Macaroni Grill Italian? It’s right here.
Being in this “old” airport, I can see why people in Kansas City don’t want to change our “perfect” airport? No, you cannot get a local pizza or a glass of wine at a piano bar or buy a fashionable tie or sit down to a nice meal. But, who cares? You can drive to the gate. Are we so walking
averse that we want to sacrifice all the rest of what an airport during a flight delay can be? YES! Don’t change a thing! Change is BAD.
I suppose from that rant you can tell which side of the Kansas City Airport argument I am on, huh?
