Go Key West, Young Man; Go Key West

Key West, Florida, United States
Key West is, well, Key West. There are bars and bars, restaurants, bars, art galleries, bars, museums, Hemingway's house, condos for sale, architectural uniformity, silly souvenir stores, Truman’s winter White House, a butterfly haven, bars, beaches, airplanes overhead and, occasionally a bar or two.

The people here are uniquely Key West.

Is it the best port to visit? No. Is it lacking in some way? No. What makes it a good place to visit? It’s in the United States so your phone works, your dollars are currency of the realm, and you are, while not at home, at home. But, it is different from home. It is bohemian, avante garde, silly, artsy, gay, fun, warm, familiar yet unfamiliar. It is a place you need to see for yourself to decide if you like it just a little or like it a lot.

You can cruise here, fly here or drive here. But, however you do it, you should come here to see for yourself if this lovely, tacky, homey, warm and familiar place is for you.
