Lantau island, China
Day two started with an early subway ride to Tung Chung. Again the subway dropped us in a Mall so Mrs. Wong was on a mission to feed us breakfast. What better way to start the day than Dim Sum! Ryan & I are in heaven!! I wish I knew the name of the place but its in the mall and is the wall of windows that face the mountain. After a fantastic meal we walk over to the arial tram to go to Ngong Ping and the Big Buddah. The tram ride is smooth and has great views of the airport. The Ngong Ping Village is built next to the Ngong Ping Cable Car Terminal, occupies a 15,000 square metre site and has been designed to mirror and uphold the cultural and spiritual veracity of the Ngong Ping area.PHOTO_ID_R=airport.jpg] Ngong Ping is essentially a made for tourists village, think "Disney does Buddah". Yeah its commercial but its also kinda cool. We walked over to the Buddah and of sourse had to climb all the steps up. It really is very impressive. After poking around up top, we headed over to the Po Lin Monestary. Lots of monks and incense. The cafeteria there is vegaterian and is know for one of my favorite foods of all time...Fried taro. YUMMY!! After our afternoon snack, we headed back down the tram to grab the subway for the short trip to Hong Kong Disney. We met up with Michelle's Uncle Ken and went around the park. Having been to both California and Orlando recently, it was a strange feeling being somewhere so familiar but different. The best part was there were no lines for any of the rides! We saw the parade and later at night the light show with the castle. All the walking was taking its toll so after dinner, we just took the subway back to Mong Kok.
