Day 1 Kowloon Side

Mongkok, China
After more hours on planes than we want to think about,
Michelle and her Mom met us at the airport where they successfully guided us through baggage claim and transportation to our Hotel. By the time we got there and slightly unpacked, I saw 00:15 on the clock. Kinda freaky. Monday morning, even with time zones and jet lag, Chris and I were up and walking around by 7:30am. We found the Ladies Market after being torn down. Apparently, every day they tear it down in the morning and put it back in the evening.
I liked it in the morning; no where near as crowded! After waking the kids, we met Michelle and took a double decker city bus to meet her Mom for sushi near the Walled City of Kowloon.
It was once a lawless area of Kowloon that only drug lords inhabited. In the 1970's it was cleaned up and made into a really pretty city park. Then we walked through the FRESH food markets;
Poultry, Meat and Seafood. Michelle got us on a small city bus to go back to the Mong Kok area. This is where the Ladies market, the electronics market and the Pets market are.
Lots of walking, Starbucks and window shopping later, we hopped on the subway to go to Tsim Sha Taui. We ended up in a mall that at the time we thought was big but as it turned out, was tiny by Hong Kong standards. The city of Hong Kong sits across the harbor from Kowloon and is an incredible site at night.
By now it was 8:00pm and we were ready to crash so we grabbed a cab back to the hotel.
