The Peak and Sai Kung, China
Christmas eve started as any other early day... Dim Sum for breakfast! I could really get used to that everyday. After eating we headed off to The Peak by MTR.
After getting off, guess what? Another mall. Mall are a way of life here. After more escalators and moving walkways then I can count, we finally surfaced to find our way through Hong Kong Park. The Tram is one of the world's steepest funicular railways and has been operating since 1888.
It drops you in at the base of the Peak Tower, a vertical mall. But one with a hell of a view! We take the obligatory photos but the best part is looking at Ryan's face as he trys to look at the camera without his glasses on. Classic Ryan. We head back down and hop the Subway to Diamond Hill where Michelle's sister Stephanie joins us and we catch a double decker bus to Sai Kung.
The country side ride of 45 was pretty but the end was spectacular. Sai Kung is a seafood lover's nirvana! The fisherman tie up to the seawall and display their daily catch. Then, as you walk along the waterfront, the restaurants do the same thing. Talk about point and click, point and eat!
We ate clams, shrimp, scampi, fried oysters, cheesy crab, fish and orange wedges. Roll me over to the bus cause I can't move!!! But the day wasn't over yet. When we went back we had to experience the Night Market. More shopping and great bargains. I can't remember what time it was when we got back to the hotel. All I know is my head hit the pillow and I was out. Merry Christmas
