Biarritz, Aquitaine, France
We were up and off by 8.30am this morning so that we could pay €3 to camp instead of €7 for 24 hrs. Another day spent driving, about 450km knocked off today to get to Biarritz, where we parked up at about 3.30pm and went for a stroll for a couple of hours. As well as very expensive shopping streets we also found the Grand Plage and sat on the wall with all the other tourists watching the mad surfers. The sea at the Grand Plage is a renowned best place for surfing and the waves today were enormous and the surfing was great to watch. As a reward for our hilly stroll we thought we'd have a beer and at €17 for two beers that’s definitely all we had. We were expecting expensive but that’s just ridiculous so back to the van for dinner and we’ll be off early again in the morning. To rub it in further while we were drinking our beer we called some frineds we’re meeting in Spain for the weekend and they were in Torremelinos at the Euro bar where they’d been drinking wine and beer all afternoon!!
