Santa Elena, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
Well it's goodbye to rip off Biarritz and off we go again. We’ve decided to take the 150km shorter route via the Madrid ringroad, rather than the route via Salamanca which had been recommended, so that’s just 1050km. We were lucky and it paid off the ringroad was quiet and the free roads were all of good quality. As usual the SatNav tried to cause us pain and take us to the inner ringroad in Madrid but we’ve learned our lessons with this SatNav and we were ready with the route we wanted to take.

Madrid was about halfway to our South Spain destination but due to the fact there were literally no campsites or aires we had to drive an extra 200km. At least it was a campsite so we could recharge (ie do the washing, have showers, empty and fill water tanks) as we’re going to wild camp in Benalmedina with our friends for a couple of nights.
