El Rocío, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
On a recommendation from a camper we met in Portugal last year, we decided to take a slight detour today and visit El Rocio to explore for a few hours.
It was definitely worth the detour and we spent a lovely few hours walking round the town and bird watching over the Donana National Park
. The town is like out of the wild west, there is no tarmac, the roads are simply sand and the cars just pick their route. Walking along the road was like walking on the beach so we've used muscles we’d forgotten we had!!
Will we see any Cowboys??
