The destination today was Portugal and our old haunt, Olhao. We had a treat at our favourite Chinese Restaurant for lunch and it was still as good, then Penny had her hair done at her usual hairdressers.

The normal aire was empty of vans when we arrived so we parked on the street and had a walk round town to find the new aire at the other end of town near the market and our 5* Hotel/Gym. The only downside to the new aire is it's sandy underfoot so when we had the massive hailstorm it wasn’t great, but it’s free and there were about 50 of us parked, which we always like.

We decided to stay another day and visit all of our old haunts. First stop was Intermarche to do the washing and fill up with fuel. Next stop was the Algarve Outlet for coffee, internet, massage chairs and Jumbo shopping. A quick lunch in the van and then to the next supermarket Continente and Lidl, where there’s also a van wash (that’s tomorrows treat though!!). Back to the same aire but this time we parked on the grassy side, just in case of more inclement weather. A quick 5km march along the front and back through the town, in time for afternoon coffee at the van.

After planning to eat in the van, Mark decided we should go out on the town, so off we went and had a few cocktails and some tapas (Mark bravely tried octopus) before returning to the van very merry. If only it had been a nice quiet night again, but oh no the heavens opened and the wind blew making it a long and noisy night, just what we needed when we were a tad merry.
