Alvito, Alentejo, Portugal
Today we headed for Alvito for a campsite and a look around the town.
We didn't quite make it to Alvito as the campsite was 17km outside, even though the book describes it as Alvito
. The campsite setting, however, is stunning set round a mass of lakes. Our guidebook doesn’t even mention this area, but I suspect that is because there are so many around. Anyway it was a beautiful setting and we’ll stop at Alvito for half a day tomorrow on our way to our next destination.
Unbelievably it was so hot today that even Mark couldn’t stand sitting out in it, and that’s April!!
