Monsaraz, Alentejo, Portugal
First stop Alvito for a quick look at the castle and the local architectural delights of Menuelinos doors, which were that delightful we didn't even take a photo!!

We did happen across a teenage choir outside the church, we didn’t understand a word, but it still sounded good, turns out they are on a religious mission .

Next and final stop for the day was Monsaraz where both the guidebook and aires book said we should stop for the walled town and the view of the Dam.

Per the aires book the view is the best aire view in Portugal and we don’t see how they could be wrong as it’s stunning. The town really now just exists for tourists but you can still get the feel of the originality, so it’s definitely worth a visit even though it takes less than an hour to explore thoroughly.
