Oh my, what a change in the weather, it was 3 degrees this morning and there was ice on the inside of the windscreen, brrrrr.

Surprisingly we had a rather quick breakfast and set off so we could get a bit warmer . We made it to the outskirts of Santander by lunchtime and had our last supermarket shop, in a motorhome unfriendly Carrefour.

It was mid afternoon when we got to our aire, we wanted to get there with plenty of time to go and look at the elephants like the aire book promised. We certainly weren't disappointed we saw a whole lot more and the park looks brilliant.

You can get a cable car to the top of the mountain to get an overview and then take your vehicle in and drive the 14km of roads around the park where the animals are all roaming free.
