Hamburg on a Sunday - it's mainly shut

Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany
Rain again this morning so we moved to our new camp, went to McDonalds to catch up on the world (we’d kind of heard about another terror attack in London, but couldn’t understand much of the German) and then had showers and generally cleaned up. The afternoon turned nice and sunny so we relaxed and prepared our feet for long walks tomorrow.
Off we went by 9.30am to find the town wouldn’t wake up until 12 noon, if at all. Why would you want things open on a bank holiday weekend?? By things I mean the tourist information office, museums, galleries etc.. We decided to take the tour bus since the city is so big, then we could just walk back to where we wanted. Well the bus was a disaster, no idea what kind of English the guide spoke but none that we understood, and Penny translated the German instead.
The tour, which was supposed to last for 90 mins, had 2 10 min breaks in the 50 mins we were on the bus, and then we were all kicked off to wait for another bus. Given the success of the last bus we decided to bypass any more waiting.
We had a good walk round, looked at an antiques fair (usual tat), had a German lunch (very full on potatoes, it was either those or asparagus) walked a lot more looking at all the beautiful buildings and parks and then returned to rest our weary feet with a couple of hours sunbathing outside the van.
