We set off nice and early this morning, just an hour to Lubeck but we had no idea how long it was going to take us to explore and we’d heard it was beautiful so didn’t want to miss out.

Typically this is the first time that the aire coordinates we’d found weren’t good.  As we’re getting more experienced we headed for the centre anyway and fortunately managed to find an aire right in the centre on the river, for €6 per night. It was literally 400m to the town gates where we got a tourist map with a guided route and spent the next 5 hours investigating. The town was much bigger than we expected and absolutely full of beautiful buildings, quaint shops and character, definitely our favourite town on the trip so far.
