Blonduous - HerringMuseum, Tunnels and Seals Maybe

Blönduós, Iceland
The drive to our next campsite was 116 miles, which may not sound much but on the Icelandic roads you just never know, so we were up and off.
Going early was a bit of a mistake as the first stop was the supermarket of which there were two in town, one opening at 11am and one at 10am, so we had to wait 30 mins!!
Shopping done off we went down the coast road ready to tackle our 3 tunnels (4km single track, 11km single carriageway and 1km single track with no lights) that were in the first 40 miles of our journey. We had a coffee break to brace ourselves for the tunnels and to look at the beautiful scenery. After the first couple of tunnels we had a stop in Siglufjordur to look round and visit the Herring museum, which was surprisingly good.
Our afternoon stop was overlooking the coast trying to spy the promised seals, but to no avail.
We were right to set off early it was 5.30pm when we arrived at camp, so quick to the showers (one for about 50 vans, so 100 campers!) before the rush and back in time for wine and dinner.
Hopefully the rain will stop and we can look round Blonduos tomorrow morning.
