Hamragarder - hot river, viking farm and waterfall

Iceland
Fortunately the day dawned bright and Mark felt a little better, so back we went to Hvergerdi. We parked up and hiked 3km uphill to find the hot river for a dip and my god it was very hot, about 45 degrees.
After a lunch at the parking we set off up the Pjorsa river to Stong which has a rebuilt Viking Farm Settlement. The river valley was absolutely stunning but it has to be said Penny was very dubious about this rebuilt Viking Settlement.  After visiting we can confirm that it was rebuilt although we would suggest rather dubiously given that it looked remarkably like the Turf Houses we’d been in.  Anyway the farm was interesting and then we stopped at Hjalparfoss waterfalls, which were beautiful.
Finally at 4.30pm we were ready to set off to our next camping destination. It was a good job it was only 45 miles away, under yet another waterfall (Selijandsfoss)!!
