Arrived in Florida Friday night to work with the Fuller Center for Housing of South Walton Cnty, Florida. They are building a simple, decent house for a man named Perry. His eyesight is failing him and he has other physical problems as well. Both of his wives have passed away, and he is now living in a delapidated trailer. The Fuller Center is building a house using a product from a company called Lazarian. Essentially, they are like rigid foam Lego blocks that fit together and then act as the form or mold for conrete and re-bar.. The interior and exterior are then finished with a stucco finish that has the color already in it. We are trying to finish the home before Christmas. The man in charge is Bob Dean. He started the Habitat affiliate around here also. Bob arranged with a friend of his for me to stay in their beachfront condo while I am here. 5 star volunteer housing I call it.
