Christmas Eve in Florida (last day)

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, United States
Last day of work at the S.Walton County Florida Fuller Center for Housing. Didn't get quite as far as we had wished, but we applied steady pressure and didn't panic. Completed all of the interior trim, hung all the interior pocket doors and closet door and today (after a few trips to the cabinet store- it's hard to get good kitchen design help) we hung the four kitchen cabinets. It is a small galley style kitchen with a stack washer/dryer, refrigerator, stove, sink and microwave squeezed into 91 inches of wall. The only base cabinet is 18" wide and we used that for the sink base cabinets, pushed the small sink to the back of the countertop, so that we could alter the drawer on the cabinet to still be used in front of the sink. We put a 24" wide cabinet pushed up to the ceiling over the 24" wide refrigerator. The appliances are coming next week sometime. The painter will come on monday with the airless sprayer and paint the whole interior in about an hour. The floor finish will be acid etched concrete with area rugs. The homeowner, Mr. Perry, has been extremely gracious to me. He gave me a tent to use along the way if there is no lodging available and today gave me a box of food to take along on the trip. I told him that I was supposed to be there to help him, not the other way around, but he said "What comes around goes around". I really appreciate the lodging this week that was arranged by Bob Dean, who runs the local Fuller Center. I also met his pastor from his church, Father Frank Connor. I attended the men's morning meeting at the church on Friday morning when I arrived in Florida and met both of them, together with Jim, for a great breakfast at a restaurant called Stinky's this morning. It didn't stink and the Fisherman's breakfast was A-plus. Bob is planning to build four more homes on an Indian reservation nearby using the same Lazarian blocks. He thinks that he can build four of the homes for 25K each. Well- that's all for now- Merry Christmas to all- Peter
