Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States
Jeff Christensen, a cabinetmaker living in Illinois was watching the news last April about the damage the tornado had done to the town of Tuscaloosa. A small voice inside spoke to his heart and he felt called to do something to help his neighbor. Jeff then set out to do something quite rare and remarkable. He anwered the call and did something. He actually did what he knows how to do best and that is, he made all of the kitchen cabinets for Camilla's new home, put them in his stepvan, invited his buddy and helper Jerry and drove the 15 hours to Tuscaloosa. They arrived Monday night, started work Tuesday morning setting cabinets and running the crown molding and setting the two bathroom vanities and laundry cabinet and left to return home today (Wednesday) just after lunch. Fortunately for both parties, Camilla was able to drop by for a visit to meet Jeff and Jerry and also to receive the gift that Jeff,s wife, a schoolteacher, had her young students make a stack of pictures wishing Camilla the best in her new home. As Jeff was leaving, I told him how grateful we all were for his offering and I also told him that I felt that he had come to Tuscaloosa as the hands and feet of God. Unconditional giving- Try it, you'll like it! Peter
