Once Brewed, England, United Kingdom
Day 2 and I need to fix the LR!

My first night in a hostel and first experience of having to share a room with 3 other strangers . There was one man that kept waking me up with his snoring, lets hope I got some revenge throughout the night;-) It's 8am and time for breakfast. Most of the Hostel are here for the Great
North Run so when I turn up for breakfast it is packed and everyone is excited about their days events.

I am just thinking that my LR is broken and I might have to call the AA to get me home. Eat first. I went out to have a look and now that the engine is cold and it's daylight it is easy to see what the problem is. The exhaust bolts have worked their way loose and it has come apart. 2 new bolts and I am back on the road. I am off to Hadrian's Wall today so only a short drive (and everything is OK with the LR, touch wood). I have driven to a place called Once Brewed and to the YHA there. It doesn't open until 4pm so I park up, pop into the visitor centre and pick up a roll and flapjack then get changed it to some walking gear. The walk is fairly short at 3 .5 miles each way from the visitor centre to Housestead Fort but is full of steep ascents and descents. Hardian's Wall is very well preserved here and I took loads of photos. I stopped at the sycamore tree that was featured in
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and ate my lunch thinking of Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman (I think) being here fighting the sheriffs men. The YHA doesn't open until 4pm so I pop in for a quick Stowford Press Cider next door while I wait. Just what you need after a hot day walking. Booked in to the YHA and I have to share with 4 other men tonight. No food on at the YHA so I think I might just have to pop to the pub next door for some food and a pint or two.
