Ullapool, Scotland, United Kingdom
I set off this morning looking for a group of surfers on the beach, but by the time that I got there at around 9am I guess they had realised that the waves (surf) was not all that good in Thurso and they must have moved on. I had a look for them on my way but I couldn't see them, I guess they must have gone the other way up the coast.

I set out with all good intentions of getting to SYHA Durness and stopping there for the night while paying a visit to Smoo Cave . I got to the hostel at around 11:30 and went down to visit Smoo Cave. This took approximately 10 minutes as there was not much to see except, yes you guessed it, a cave and some water!

So I decided to carry on driving along the North West Highland route, where around every corner was a photo opportunity so as you can imagine I was stopping the car every mile or so just to get out and take a photo. I now have plenty of photos of mountains and I will have absolutely no idea where I took them. I stopped the car up in the mountains for a little lunch (Pot noodle, Bombay bad boy!), very healthy! I got out the stove and the camping kettle and tried to boil some water. This didn't work very well as there must have been 50 mile an hour winds blowing along the glen, so much so that I had to turn the car around to point the bike on the car roof into the wind as it was blowing around alot.

I arrived at my destination, Ullapool at around 16:00, parked the car up outside the hostel and went for a walk along the beach and through the town to get my bearings and to see where I could get some food. The SYHA Ullapool, opened at 17:00 and I booked in and got my bed sorted. Dinner was a Chinese takeaway....mmm!

I make my rolls for the next day and early to bed tonight as I have an early start in the morning.
