Laggan, Scotland, United Kingdom
Today I decided to stay another night at Morags Lodge so that I could head off to Wolftrax mountain bike trails at Laggan. After reading their website I decided to stay away from the black route and to give the red route a try. This route was 15km long so I got straight to it when I go there at 11:30

The only problem that I found today, which is a pretty obvious one, is that in order to cycle down the side of a mountain, you first have to cycle to the top of it . This worked out to be a 2.5 mile ride to the top, so I was knackered before I started.

The red route was split in to upper and lower sections with a 1.5 mile ride back up the mountain to join the next stage. The upper section went without problems and I took it a bit carefully to start off with. The I started the lower section and with added confidence, only to come off the bike
on a really easy section early on. I had a quick look at the bike and I noticed that the rear brake was getting stuck and not working properly, therefore the front locked up on a downhill section and sent me over the handle bars.

I finished the red route and stopped at the cafe for a jacket potato and a hot chocolate, then dropped in to the bike shop and got them to swap the rear brake cable over and all was well. I then set out and did the two red routes again, moaning about the cycle up and wishing that I had got the Land Rover shuttle to the top, but I just didn't want to be lazy. The second run went without any mishap or broken bones, all together a great day. Now back to the hostel for some food and a pint!
