Day 13 - 4 miles in the BMW / 16 miles on foot

Aviemore, Scotland, United Kingdom
Today I headed of to Loch Einlich with Jade from the hostel. She was over from Canada and had asked if she could come along with me. I had first planned to go off on my bike but as it was fairly expensive to hire a bike we decided to go off on foot.

We walked down to the Loch and then up one of the footpaths up the side of the mountain to get a better view of the loch and also some more pictures. We started the final part of the path which turned in to a bit of a scramble and started to get very steep and slippery so we decided it was not worth risking a slip as the drop was quite significant and we would have probably broken a few bones, and made a hasty retreat.

Walking back from the loch to the car, which was about 7 miles we were startled by the passing of a fighter jet through the glen at almost ground level, leaving us with our fingers in our ears. Where was the camera when you needed it (yes, in my rucksack!). The jet was gone within seconds and I had no time at all to get the camera out of my bag.

We got back to the hostel, get showered (separately!) and then headed out to the local fish and chip shop for dinner and then to the pub next door to the hostel for a pint!

Can't get internet here tonight so I will have to upload some pictures later.
