Good-bye New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
We finished out our stay in New Orleans with a nice walk through the French Quarter starting around 7 a.m. when everything was quiet and peaceful. We just walked the streets in areas we have not seen before including seeing the Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop one of New Orleans oldest structures used continuously as a bar. We also visited Cafe du Monde again for cafe au lait and beignets. As we didn't have our shuttle to the airport picking us up until 11 a.m. we could just walk around and enjoy the area.

The French Quarter really is a piece of Europe in American but not quite Europe as it truly is a result of mixture of French, Spanish, Negro, and Americans all creating a unique culture here . Reminded be in a way of Quebec also a little bit of Europe in the Americas.

Well as I sit at the Louis Armstrong airport in New Orleans Marge and I prepare to say good-bye for now to New Orleans and head back to Seattle.
