Not much to say about the day at sea pretty much a decompression day for me from work with napping, reading and just enjoying some of the entertainment offered. We all listened to the Alaska Adventure talk by the cruise director and all agreed we could have missed that. The naturalist talk on Alaska glaciers and wild life was on the other hand enjoyable and informative. It was nice to see that Carnival does have a naturalist to spot out animals and to give some back ground talks. That type of service is not something I associate with Carnival and glad that for Alaska they do provide it.
The evening dinner at Truffles was very good with Christina and Marge enjoying a Lobster Tail and Shrimp diner an dI having the Prime Rib
. The meals were great and food has been good to great. Christina and I are both wondering about the bad reviews we have seen for Carnival. The meals have been good or great, the decor is pleasant and the announcements really have been infrequent all things that people have made a big deal about. I guess as is so often the case you have to read between the lines to determine a reviewers expectations or point of view to judge whether the review is valid or not.
The evening show was energetic shows with 4 male and female dancers changing various costumes and singing and dancing to tunes of the 70s, 80s and 90s. I was lively and we all enjoyed to performance. It was a enjoyable hour a good way to enjoy some music and dance while letting diner settle. We did spend some time also at the Red Frog Pub which is one of Carnivals new specially themed bars and the bartenders were enthusiastic and the music enjoyable even though we are pretty much lite weights for staying up and didnt spend to much time there.
