London/Southport, England, United Kingdom
Today we packed up our bags and went off on the Tube to Waterloo Station. We left Heidi in the corner of a nice coffee shop drinking espresso and eating cake, with all of our bags at her feet, and the rest of us went off to the London Eye. We'd heard that the queues were huge and so we had bought advance tickets and made sure we were in line 30 minutes before our time slot like they told us - and we walked straight on. The ride took 30 minutes, and from it we could see the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Charing Cross Station, and lots of modern buildings with silly nicknames - the Shard, the Gherkin, the Cheese Grater, the Walkie Talkie.
We walked back through a subway completely covered with awesome graffiti art, picked up Heidi and our bags and got on the train to Liverpool . At Liverpool we were met at the station by Warren, Karen, Ben, Eden and Lily, and Sylvia. We had a walk around the waterfront areas of Liverpool along the River Mersey, in the rain; Jed bought an England soccer shirt; and we went to Wagamama for dinner. We then drove 40 minutes to Sylvia's place in Southport where we stayed the night.

It was great to see the cousins getting reacquainted, especially Jed and Ben who got on great together doing what 8 year old boys do.
