It has taken us a few days to settle into Parisan life. Today in sitting on a street cafe drinking espresso and having a croissant and will retell our tale from Sunday.
We took the Eurostar from London to Paris - 2 . 1/2 hours direct and very easy. On arrival at Gar de Nor we decided to walk to our accommodation as only 10 minutes away - not by subway as Adrienne suggested! It was a classic text book crime. At the corner (quiet st) steve had the bag by his feet and all kids were there - a man came up and asked them directions and in that moment someone else who no one saw grabbed the bag! Nothing we could do!

We cancelled credit card 30 min later - they had in that time spent €1300! (But the bank cancelled payment so that's all fine) . Nothing major lost and all replaceable- they took our lunch! Pocket knife etc! Only pain is the drivers licence. Anyway - just shows you how quickly it can happen.

However we have an awesome apartment 4 stories up (walk up oak stairs) in Montmartre- feel like we are in Nairobi - few streets over and we can walk up to Sacre Coeur and look out over Paris. Had dinner on the street at a little bistro watching people
