Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Alaska, United States
Hello all
The first item on our cruise agenda was to get up close and personal with the Hubbard Glacier . We stood out the front of the ship for well over an hour heading straight for the glacier. It just got bigger and bigger.  Ever since I saw the Fox glacier in NZ I have been fascinated by them. We got to within a 500 mtrs of the glacier and it was way higher than the ship which has 17 decks. I stared at it for ages and it was very cold.
The next day we went into the Bay of Glaciers and got up close and personal with another 3 glaciers. Though this was a drizzly windy and freezing day.  Interesting point, a couple of these glaciers are actually getting longer but the vast bulk of the glaciers in Alaska are shrinking.
Talk soon
