The Plain of Six Glaciers

Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
Hello all
Today we did the walk above Lake Louise to a place called The Plain of Six Glaciers . Its a 11Klm return walk and we had a guide and walked with another 3 people. It was a fine day from a Banff point of view. Meaning it only rained a little and we saw blue sky for 10 minutes and the sun came out for about 5 minutes. Sandy and I were in Banff with Corey in 2001 and the cloud was so low we didn't see any mountains or the end of the lake. But we did have enough snow to build a small snowman!! So todays weather was kinda perfect for the walk. The walk starts in front of the Fairmont hotel and then travels along the right hand side of the lake to the back of the lake. Then the uphill starts. ugg!! Lunch is at a place call the Tea House. $5 coffee and cash only. We didn't partake. Then we complete the walk to the Glacier Lookout. I admit to be utterly stuffed walking uphill. I don't think Sandy broke a sweat!!!
At the Lookout it snowed ever so slightly. Bonus.
The walk was excellent and all 4, well three at least of us, were very glad we did the walk. High reward for effort.
Tomorrow we drive to Jasper and walk on a glacier on the way.
Baz and Sand
