Hello all
Today was the 290 klm drive from Banff to Jasper along the Icefield Parkway.
We had a few stops along the way. It was a beautiful sunny day. Our first stop was at Peyto Lake, just north of Lake Louise. We stopped here only because our walking guide suggested it. It was great advice. Our next stop was at the Icefield. This is a heavily visited tourist location and it was fortunate that we are here out of the peak season. We thought it was packed with people but was told that at the peak there are double the numbers. Eek. We were able to quickly get on the tour to the Skyway which is a glass floored structure 300 metres over the valley floor. Such fun!!!
Next stop was the bus trip onto the Athabasca Glacier. I find glaciers fascinating!! We had 20 minutes on the glacier but most of us were back in the bus early. It was just so cold and it was a sunny day.
We arrived at our accommodation in Jasper at 6pm.. Tomorrows plans are still open for debate. Hike or not to hike?? I will let you know the result tomorrow.
Good night from us.
