Arrival to Canadian Prairies

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Well, it turns out that domestic flights are much less painful than international! The security check was a breeze and I boarded the plane using my driver's license :) The flight took 4 hours and we landed in Calgary without any problems.

Calgary airport is small, but nicely decorated: they have dinosaurs, fossils, horse sculptures and fountains inside. After picking up the luggage, we went to get the rental car. At that point I realized that I left my Nintendo 3DS (portable game) on the plane... What's worse, I stored my driver's license inside of its case and I kinda needed that... So we ran to the luggage services and luckily my 3DS case was found and brought out to me. That's was the first adventure in Calgary :)

After all that we picked up the car, it was a Toyota Camry and a luxury edition, no less! It has a powerful engine for comfortable drive in mountains and several cool features, like a large screen that shows all kinds of information and a rear-view camera that makes backing up really easy.

We had to stop at a nearby Walmart, because the GPS was misbehaving and we thought it was because of a car charger. Luckily, there's Wind Mobile in Calgary, so I could use my phone and mobile internet for free. I found a Walmart, drove there. We had some lunch at a food court, then bought a new charger and returned it immediately, because it didn't fix issues with the GPS. So, in the end, I simply removed the bad GPS and used a GPS application on my phone instead.

All set, we started driving to the first hotel in Canmore. See the next entry.

It's pretty cool that we only asked for Toyota Corolla or similar when booking, and they gave us a Luxury Edition Camry for the same price! =)
Lots of space in the car and a cool net in the trunk which prevents small bags from flying all over the place.
