Evening in Banff town

Banff, Alberta, Canada
The ride to Banff town was fairly short - only about 20 minutes. We also had to stop on the way to buy an entry pass for the park.

The town is very small and extremely touristy . We found a parking spot and went for a walk around town. Most buildings are very pretty, mostly wooden and covered with flowers, flags and decorations. All the streets have animal names: Bear, Beaver, Elk, Lynx, etc. The parking spot was on the intersection of Bear and Beaver, for example!

We had some dinner at a pub and then went for a hike along Bow River, which water has an amazing turquoise colour. While hiking we saw some nice local cottages, awesome views of mountains and an amazing castle-likeĀ Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. We also walked through the campus of Banff Centre, a post-secondary arts school.

On our way back to the car, we walked through a residential part of Banff town, which had lots of nice houses. And in one of the backyards we spotted a grazing deer. We thought it was domestic at first, because it was completely unafraid of people and continued eating lawn and tree branches without concern. Apparently, this is a normal sight here, because no of the passersby were interested.

Finally, we walked back to the parking lot, picked up the car and drove back to the hotel in Canmore.
