Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland
Kilkenny used to be a capital of Ireland in medieval times. It's a very pleasant little town with a few easily walkable attractions. First we went on a walking tour of the medieval part of the city, then visited an old house of a wealthy merchant turned into a museum and finally we toured the Kilkenny Castle, an old-time home of the powerful and wealthy Butler family. We also visited the National Craft Gallery, filled with interesting artistic thingies.
In the evening we took a train to Dublin and walked to the hotel, which is located in a very modernistic area!
