Ærø!

Aeroskobing, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark
After a short ferry ride (75 minutes) we arrived to the paradise island of Ærø, where a historic old town of Ærøskøbing is lovingly preserved to look exactly like it did in 17th century. We have arrived only around 9 pm, when the sun was setting, but I could already see how charming the old town is. Our hotel is an amazingly authentic old house built in 1784 (200 years older than me!), and I feel like I need to photograph every corner here! We got a room right under the roof, on the third floor, there are old toys, books, old furniture and tiny windows from which you can see the town's harbour, it's simply wonderful! Alekro booked a room in a different hotel (because he likes making last-minute bookings, apparently), but we can see his hotel from our windows and we are planning to meet after breakfast. I'm looking forward to the breakfast here and then to a bike ride around this charming little island.
Before going to bed we went for a walk to see a colourful row of tiny beach huts that locals use to enjoy Baltic sea (we touched the water, it wasn't that cold!). There was also a herd of small black cows behind an electrified fence nearby. They were mildly curious of people, but still cautious. I managed to touch a calf on his wet leathery nose, though :) There was also some jazz music playing in a barn nearby, because apparently we arrived to Ærø in the middle of jazz festival. The average age of the audience was around 60, since who else likes jazz ;)

I have a question. Where did you take a bike to ride around this beautiful island?
