Boone, NC: Blue Ridge Pkwy, Linville Falls

Boone, North Carolina, United States
Heading to Boone along Blue Ridge Parkway.
However, too many low-hanging tree branches kept banging on top and sides of RV.   Turned around and took Hwy 40.
KOA - 2 nights.   Bought KOA Value Card.
Visited with friends that live in Mountain View.
Blowing Rock: nice drive along Blue Ridge Pkwy going south of Boone.

Woodlands BBQ for lunch.

Cone Manor-- really nice crafts; expensive. Beautiful old house with rocking chairs on porch overlooking lake in valley. Wonderful spot!

Linville Falls: Three-tiered waterfall plunging into Linville Gorge, the “Grand Canyon of the Southern Appalachians.”
Trails near the Visitor Center lead to five viewpoints via two trails.
Pretty easy to the overlooks.
The Gorge trail to the bottom was more difficult; lots of tree roots and rocks. Beautiful photo spot at the bottom.
No wonder the falls is considered the most photographed waterfall along the Blue Ridge Pkwy.
