Giraffes all walking only about 150 feet from our window, along with White Rhino with her baby, Impala. Wow. Even had a Yellow Wagtail bird serenading us.

MORNING GAME DRIVE
Amos is so great explaining everything, even the vegetation:
--Carisa Edulis Berry, a very sweet-smelling flower (powerful fragrance like a frangi pani) with red berries. When ripe they are black and good to eat. Ate a couple that were ripe; pretty good. Hibiscus flower (very small compared to ours in Florida)
--Whistling Acadia tree has a nut on it and ants make a hole in it for shelter. When the wind blows, the nut makes a whistling sound; hence its name

--Black Rhinos are very shy and run away when the truck gets near; can't believe how fast they run. Difficult to get very close
--Lilac-Breasted Roller: We aren't avid bird people; however, the colorful birds are quite exciting to see. There is a large marshy area here; great for seeing unusual birds.
-- Egyptian geese, Sacrid Ibis, Spoonbill, Crown Cranes, African Hoopoe bird.
Solio is a Rhino Reserve. We saw rhinos all the time and were really able to get close to them.

Lunch back at the lodge. The couple from Australia that were at Sassab Lodge on our last night came here today. Very happy to see them again. Enjoyed lunch out in the yard under the trees.

EARLY-EVENING GAME DRIVE
--Candle bush (yellow flowers), Eland, Cheetah
--Crown Cranes: Watched with binoculars quite a while. Fascinating seeing the males doing their mating dance of bowing and jumping up and down--like warriors.

Dinner--Another superb meal. Really enjoy the Australian couple and talked for quite a while.
