Lunch in the beautiful dining room with canyon view out the windows.
Murals on walls depicting customs of four Indian Tribes. Mary Coulter, designer and Indian art expert, who searched museums for suitably authentic designs. Mimbreno china designed from Mimbres Indians, which we'd never heard about before.
Food very good: chili with beef tenderloin, pork chunks; roast prime rib sandwich; duck confit sliders with blueberry barbeque sauce.
Came back again for dinner to celebrate our cousin's 66th birthday. Heard so much about the fabulous steaks; the guys were sure disappointed! The pasta and crab stack very good. Dessert mouth watering--fruit in custard/crème cinnamon crisp bowl.
A Ringtail was even up in the rafters; first time seeing one of these.

Lookout Studio and Point
Wonderful canyon views; stone stairway snaking below to another terrace

Buckey O'Neill's Cabin -- Oldest structure in the park, 1895.
Bright Angel Lodge
Especially enjoyed the museum with the stone fireplace designed by Mary Colter layered to represent the canyon strata from river to rim.
Kolb Studio
Interesting history and displays about the Kolb Brothers, who started a photography business here.

Chuckled at the story about the boat: "Found in Emery's garage with a skeleton inside it. Kolb descendants tell of assembling the skeleton like a puzzle on the dining room table to entertain visiting children. The skeleton remains unidentified."

Angels Landing Trail
Walked to just beyond the natural tunnel; easy half hour walk.
